Up The Blues
In late 2008, as part of Crossroads,
Gerry added a new dimension to his musical calling card when they unveiled
their Blues Session at the Strand Bar in Strandhill. Focusing on
blues numbers from traditional artists like Robert Johnson and
Willie Dixon along with songs from modern greats like Eric Clapton
and Robert Cray.
They re-introduced their
blues session in the Harp Tavern on Quay Street in Sligo a few years
ago as well.
Since then, Gerry has been featuring
Blues along with a
smattering of classic rock and R&B. Although
he includes a couple of blues numbers in his regular program,
he plans to keep the two programs separate.
